I decided to start hitchhiking because I think it's a good thing to meet people easily and talk with them.
You will ask me what I can say to an unknown person, but all good hitchhikers know the answer!
Firstly you can make a good presentation of youself and your trip, as well as your work or hobbies, usually people like travelling and talk about that so don't worry and enjoy the road !
I like asking how is life in the country I'm passing through.
What can I see nearby ?
Are there traditionnal festivals ?
Where do they work and what do they do in life ?
I want to know more about their country to enrich myself and to understand better mine.
I'm very interested about all people around the world because all have something to teach me, they are different and for this they are rich in knowledge !
During my trip I want to share my culture and give some help to work and to live like a local in order to grow up myself.
Meeting different people and maybe different tribes is very interresting but i want to meet them like their egal and not in a tourism agency tour because I think that the meeting will be completly different if I come like a tourist and I only follow my guide. I prefer to go my own way.
For me true sharing is the moment where you can give your time or talk about your experiences without waiting something of same value in exchange. In this state of mind, I think you are in a "commercial exchange" and not in unselflessness, that I like to call true sharing.
In that way I think in that moment you are in the true spirit of learning, you are interested about people you have in front of you and not about the things you think to know.
Unfortunatly one year will be insuffisant to understand our world but on the road of life who can pretend to know everything. It's important to let things happen naturally because that is the only way to understand by yourself and to be capable of teaching at your turn.
Knowledge it's like a bottomless well where we must draw to become a better person, we can't understand our world only with books, we should take time to feel it.
